Remember, we accept JEWLERY, DENTAL FILLINGS, COINS, FIGUREENS, anything containing the precious metals GOLD, SILVER or PLATIMUN. Even if your items are broken, bent, tarnished, mismatched, or missing pieces.
One of the easiest and quickest ways to tell if an item contains precious metals, is by placing a magnet on the item in question. If the item sticks to the magnet, it is NOT gold, silver, or platinum.
- How to Identify Precious Metals:
- Gold Marked 10kt (.417), 12kt (.50), 14kt (.583), 18kt (.750), 22kt (.917) or 24kt (.999)
- Silver Marked Sterling, .925, .999, or silver
- Platinum marked .950 or PLAT
- Non Precious Metals will be marked:
- 1/10GF or 1/20 GF - These items are gold filled and have only 10% or 5% gold content
- EGP or GP - These items are gold plated and contain only small amounts of gold
- Silver Plated or unmarked - These items are silver plated and have only 5% silver content
- Speidel, Monet, Avon, Napier, Trifari, Sarah Coventry and Swank - These items are considered costume jewelry
